SUSAN CERCE - POLITICAL/TOPICAL COMEDIAN - BIO
Political Funnies is written solely by Susan Cerce.
Cerce, born in Washington D.C., was irresistibly drawn to political humor at an early age and gives full credit to all those great political jokes living in her home town then and now for her career choice in comedy. Her first brush with Show-Biz was as a child singer, making her first television appearance on a local TV talk show reciting a poem about Christmas Bells.
After landing in San Francisco she furthered her career in comedy by being the door warden at the Holy City Zoo (1981/82) and keeping the crowds from bursting in for freebie looks at the likes of Robin Williams, Barry Sobel, Paula Poundstone, Kevin Meany, Michael Pritchard, Will Durst and a host of others making comedy history. It was during this period Cerce began her own stand-up career but when her day job turned into a night job, her comedy career continued by writing humor for joke services, publications, and radio commercials.
Whereas Cerce had always included political humor in her act, it was the inspiration of the Gulf War, January, 1991 that finally brought her to the stage with “Views on the News - Political Topical Humor for Couch Potatoes with ATTITUDE!”
Ms. Cerce gave up performing after she became permanently disabled in 1997. Today she concentrates on her continued role as the publisher and editor of HumorMall.com, a web site dedicated to Comedy Humor Skills for Stage and Platform featuring the late great comedy club producer and coach, John Cantu.
